The MOROCCO GAMING EXPO 2026 is already shaping up to be one of the spring’s major geek events, with the Moroccan qualifiers for the WCS and ECG scheduled to take place in Rabat from May 20 to 24, 2026. Continuing its wave of announcements, the event has revealed a new member of its jury: Frédéric Lamarque, a Mauritian cosplayer and representative of the African continent, recognized for the power of his creations and his sense of stagecraft.
As a representative of the African continent, Frédéric Lamarque is a pioneering figure in cosplay in Mauritius, with more than 12 years of experience. Active since 2013, he has designed more than fifty complex costumes, specializing in massive armor and costume engineering. His approach combines technical precision, structural strength and meticulous attention to detail to bring spectacular silhouettes to life.
A master of working with EVA foam and thermoplastics, Frédéric excels at transforming raw materials into imposing armor pieces that faithfully recreate the original designs. He is particularly known for iconic pop culture characters such as Predator, Kratos (God of War) and Spawn, combining extreme visual fidelity with dynamic stage performances designed to leave an impression on the audience.
A three-time consecutive champion of the national Anime Next (2015–2017) competition, Frédéric has helped showcase Mauritian talent beyond its borders, notably through his acclaimed participation in Comic Con Africa (South Africa) in the Masters categories. Serving every year on the juries of several events in Africa and internationally, he brings recognized cosplay expertise and an in-depth knowledge of the scene.
