The spotlight has turned to Morocco’s cosplay scene: the two duos, Shams and Panzermalkin, have just claimed victory in the second edition of Morocco’s WORLD COSPLAY SUMMIT qualifiers. This notable performance confirms the growing strength of a creative, passionate and increasingly visible community, both on social media and at major cultural events dedicated to pop culture and gaming.
The competition took place as part of the third edition of the MOROCCAN GAMING EXPO, an event supported by Morocco’s Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication. Beyond the competitive aspect, the initiative highlights a clear objective: to give cosplay a central place in Morocco’s ecosystem, alongside esports, video games and the fandom cultures that now shape the international scene.
With this victory, Shams and Panzermalkin have earned their place to officially represent Morocco at the WCS 2026 world finals. This marks an important handover, as it is one of the most prestigious cosplay competitions in the world, where staging, costume accuracy and stage performance are judged with a level of rigor comparable to that of a professional show.
The WORLD COSPLAY SUMMIT 2026 finals will be held in August 2026 in Nagoya, Japan. This major milestone will give the two duos the opportunity to defend the Kingdom’s colors against the best international teams, while showcasing Moroccan expertise. It is a prospect that will fuel great ambitions for the local scene and inspire a new generation of cosplayers.
